OUR Coaches

Brendan Ward is the current varsity head coach at Pacifica Christian High School. Last season, he was a CIF Southern Section coach of the year, leading the Seawolves to a CIF title and a state tournament run. Brendan has been a multi-sport athlete his whole life, playing ice hockey, baseball, and soccer in addition to volleyball. His introduction to volleyball was on the beach, learning the basics from two legends of the game, Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos. Once he reached high school, he played competitive beach under another legend, Dane Selznick, on Palisades High School's beach volleyball team. Brendan decided to continue playing volleyball in college, and he attended California Lutheran University to study exercise science. After he graduated in 2019, he stayed on with the men's volleyball program as an assistant coach.

Sarah Joy is the current director of volleyball at Pacifica Christian High School and the head coach for girls varsity. She grew up playing volleyball in Long Island, New York. Attending Walt Whitman High School, she played for four years on Varsity as an outside hitter, earning an All-Conference Player title. Sarah played club volleyball for LI United, LIVBC, and LI Superiors. After high school, Sarah played Division I volleyball at Sacred Heart University as a DS/Libero. Her team continuously earned a spot to compete in the NEC Championship games, and she finished out her career by receiving the Coach's Award. She is currently a coach at Actyve Volleyball Club. Previously, she was an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology and Co-Director of Asphalt Green Volleyball.
