Recap of Annual Winter Dance & Music Concert
January 27th, 2023
Students from every corner of Pacifica came out to participate in and watch our Winter Dance & Music Concert last week, with performances ranging from beginner dancers to our prize-winning a cappella team.
Our dance team had several numbers, including routines to “Pump It” by the Black Eyed Peas and “Woman” by Doja Cat, which garnered rowdy cheers and applause from the audience. In addition to the dance team, students in our elective dance class had the opportunity to show off their new moves with a handful of student-choreographed performances. This annual event is always exciting for students who are usually behind the scenes or otherwise not on the stage!
We also saw our Wolf PACappella team perform a variety of songs throughout the night. They’re preparing for their first competition on February 17th, and sounded amazing! In addition to a cappella, some students chose to perform duets accompanied by student musicians. Pacifica juniors Clementine Herold and Moriah Willard, accompanied by freshman Callum Ganz on the piano, belted beautiful notes together in a rendition of “Chasing Pavements” by Adele. Later on in the show, junior Skadie Kosta and sophomore Lexi Sexton, accompanied by senior Steven Cathcart on the acoustic guitar, appeased the crowd with a duet to “Everything Has Changed” by Taylor Swift.
We heard a beautiful arrangement from Pacifica’s instrumental music program. Two students were on strings, one on piano, and one on the drum set. We’re so proud of all of the talent displayed at the Winter Dance & Music Concert and are excited to see what students have in store for the rest of the semester.
