Xander Constantine '23, Settles in at Princeton
March 25th, 2024
Pacifica encourages students to dive in and explore to get the most out of high school. Xander Constantine, Class of 2023, hit the mark. In class, he was exceptional as he probed questions of faith, meaning, and purpose. I had the privilege of teaching him in a section of New Testament as we uncovered the nature of a good life by learning about Christ's life and analyzing C.S. Lewis's ideas. I also traveled with him to Berlin, Paris, and Prague as we leaned into the impact of the World Wars, sought out places of interest, walked through churches, and attempted to determine who had the highest vertical jump. Xander was a member of a CIF championship volleyball team, editor of The Wolf Post, and a routine figure on stage with PACARTS performing in Les Miserables and more.
Xander is a first-year student at Princeton, settling into life in New Jersey. His circle of friends and reading list is extensive as he continues to probe the minds of those who came before while bringing his thoughts and those of his professors and peers to the table. During his first semester, his favorite course was Western Humanities. In the course, Xander re-read St. Augustine's Confessions, a book he read during his senior year at Pacifica. Reading it a second time at Princeton was a highlight of the course. Xander has always been on a journey for truth, beauty, and goodness as he builds his faith. He is running the race, rooted in his faith, and building his life, and we are all the better for his journey.
In addition to being stretched in the classroom, his life at Princeton is filled with activities that form other areas of his life. He is currently playing club volleyball. He is involved in theater through the Lewis Center for the Arts. Most recently, Xander was in a choir concert at the Princeton Playhouse. He has developed a strong community of friends from different parts of the nation and the world. Thank you, Xander. Go Seawolves!! Go Tigers!!
