Meet Andrew Budiman, Computer Science & Physics Teacher

October 31st, 2023

Andrew Budiman is a few months into his first year teaching computer science and physics at Pacifica, where he joins a rich STEM-focused environment full of engaged students. Teaching science and math has been a dream for Mr. Budiman since a young age, and he has been excited to continue fulfilling this calling at Pacifica. The fields of STEM have always intrigued Andrew, and he hopes that his students also take interest in the subject matter.

“My goal is to subtract away the mystique behind the fields of STEM,” he says. “I want to make it that much more accessible and palatable for the layman.”

Since starting at Pacifica, Andrew has loved working with students and staff. He says that he can tell that the people who make up our school have good souls, are slow to judge others, and that he feels comfortable sharing his own life experiences within this community. Mr. Budiman hopes that the feeling of curiosity and wonder that students develop towards STEM in his classes will persist beyond their high school years and translate into passions as young adults.

Mr. Budiman is also strong in his faith and holds closely to God as a guide in his life.

“God has provided light even in the darkest moments, where forgiveness was there,” he says. “I’m at peace with the life I live in these times.”

At Pacifica, we are blessed that God has directed Andrew’s career towards our school. We are excited to see how he will add to our ever-growing computer science and engineering programs and make his mark as a Pacifica staff member!

In his free time, Mr. Budiman devotes his energy to prayer and to his family.
