Carol Bock, Staff Member of the Year

June 22nd, 2023

Every year one Pacifica staff member is presented with the Crawford Award and this year the award went to our beloved administrative assistant, Carol Bock. The 2022-2023 school year was Carol’s 14th on staff at Pacifica, and she is often referred to as the backbone of the school. From being the first friendly face that prospective and current students see on a daily basis, to supporting our staff with joy and consistency, Carol sets the tone for Pacifica as a warm and inviting place to be.

Wally Hirsch, our Associate Head of School for Student Affairs shared his thoughts about Carol and her impact on Pacifica.

“When I think about Pacifica, I think about Mrs. Bock. She's our first impression at the front desk and she makes everyone feel welcome whether you're coming in for an interview or arriving late because you overslept. There have been many times that I've walked by Mrs. Bock's desk to ask a simple question and she's always willing to stop what she's doing to help. She embodies what it means to have a servant's heart. I was thrilled this past year that Mrs. Bock was chosen to receive the Crawford Award for administrator of the year. There's no one more deserving than her and it was an honor to celebrate her at the annual Senior Dinner.”

“Receiving the Crawford Award is a great honor to me because of the legacy of excellence that Joan Crawford is known for, being a founding educator and administrator here at Pacifica. She was a great mentor and inspiration to me,” said Carol. “Some of my favorite things about working at Pacifica are watching the students in their athletic competitions, theater arts performances, and other events where their talents are on display. I love getting to know the new families and working with our faculty and staff, as well as seeing the students cultivate strong friendships through their high school years.”

Thank you, Carol! We are blessed to have you as a Pacifica staff member.
