Education B.A. University of Texas at Austin; M.F.A. New School; Ph.D. New York University About Teaching English is a great gig! I get to read great books, talk about them, and see how new perspectives help my students to grow and learn. The ongoing conversation is the best thing about teaching English. I’ve lived in a lot of places–New York, Paris, Sitka, Alaska. But with great museums, fabulous restaurants, and plenty of yoga, Los Angeles is a terrific place to hang my hat. Teaching at Pacifica adds purpose and direction to my life in this new city.
