About
Hi! My name is Violet Comer, and I’m so excited to be teaching at Pacifica! As an alumni, I know firsthand how incredible and rare an educational environment like Pacifica is, and I’m so grateful to have experienced and benefited from its focus on thinking and living well—learning how to think rather than being told what to think. That being said, I’m looking forward to being able to actively contribute to and foster this environment as a teacher!

A few facts about me:
One of my favorite books is The Orphan Master’s Son, whose focus on North Korea illustrates the effects of oppressive government and propaganda. It illuminates the suffering of others whose stories often remain untold and made me feel lucky to live in such a free country.

A Bible verse that inspires and motivates me is Romans 12:2—“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

Choreographing is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m very proud of the work I’ve done so far in choreographing tap for a production of Singing in the Rain and setting my own hip-hop, contemporary, and tap piece that was performed in a show my final semester of college.
